Russian Ambassador to China Igor Morgulov revealed in a recent article in the South China Morning Post that around 30 countries have shown interest in joining the BRICS economic bloc. This comes after BRICS welcomed five new members in January, including Egypt, Iran, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saudi Arabia, and Ethiopia.
Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov also commented on the growing interest in BRICS, stating that the number of states interested in joining is more than the bloc can currently accommodate. Bolivian President Luis Arce has also highlighted the impact of BRICS on global dynamics, noting that the world order is transitioning to a more fair and balanced state based on multipolarity and multilateralism. He emphasized that BRICS economies have been successful in challenging U.S. dominance and offer hope for increased cooperation and mutual benefit among nations.
