More than 100 former federal prosecutors and federal agents have called on the U.S. State Department to step up its efforts to secure the release of Tigran Gambaryan, a U.S. citizen and employee of Binance, who is currently in custody in Nigeria. In a letter to Anthony Blinken, the 108 former government officials expressed their concerns that the current U.S. actions have been insufficient, and warned of serious consequences if more is not done. They urged the Biden administration to use all available diplomatic tools to demand Gambaryan’s immediate release, so that he can be reunited with his loved ones and return to the country where he has served with distinction.
