The German Government appears to have transferred an additional 1,500 bitcoins, valued at almost $95 million, to various cryptocurrency exchanges such as Bitstamp, Coinbase, and Kraken. This recent action, part of a series of transactions carried out since June 19, has sparked speculation regarding the government’s potential liquidation of a portion of its bitcoin holdings, which were initially confiscated during a significant operation in 2013. According to Arkham Intelligence, the address utilized for these transactions is purportedly associated with Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA). Despite these significant transfers, the majority of the confiscated funds, totaling approximately 44,692 bitcoins valued at around $2.82 billion, remain under the control of the German government.
