In an official statement, German authorities revealed that the sales were executed in accordance with Section 111p of the Code of Criminal Procedure, categorizing it as an “emergency sale.” Bankhaus Scheich Wertpapierspezialist AG, the designated bank responsible for the bitcoin transactions, was appointed to carry out the sales in a manner that was equitable and considerate to the market. These sales were conducted gradually over a span of three and a half weeks. Authorities deemed this occurrence as unparalleled and emphasized that they were able to attain fair market prices during the process.
