Holly Danielle Adams, a 34-year-old resident of California, has admitted her guilt in charges related to a conspiracy involving the distribution of drugs and money laundering through the use of cryptocurrency mixers. This legal matter emerged as a result of an investigation conducted by the Northern California Illicit Digital Economy (NCIDE) Task Force, a federal team dedicated to combating illicit activities on the dark web and involving cryptocurrencies in the Eastern District of California and other regions. Between 2020 and 2022, Adams and her partner, Devlin Hosner, operated vendor accounts on dark web marketplaces, where they sold fake oxycodone pills and subsequently laundered the profits by utilizing cryptocurrency mixers and wallets. Initially, the authorities arrested Adams and Hosner when a search was conducted at their home by state law enforcement in September 2021. However, despite this setback, they resumed their unlawful activities, leading to their second arrest in March 2022 at a hotel in Riverside County. Adams now faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years to life imprisonment. Meanwhile, Hosner remains in custody, awaiting his trial.
